THEATER AUGUSTA RAURICA

The «Theater Augusta Raurica» was built by the Romans around 80 AD and is the best-preserved Roman amphitheater north of the Alps. It was a multifunctional building with a circular arena and a small stage building and was therefore used for both amphitheater games and stage performances. Today it is a museum and is home to various cultural programs in a historical setting during the summer months, including the literary spectacle, the Roman festival and «the movement arena».
